The Town Board is comprised of the Town Supervisor (two-year term) and four council members (four-year staggering terms). They set policy, adopt local laws and resolutions, hire most staff, and regulate the Town of Bethel Code and Laws of the State of York. There is no weighted voting, each vote counts equally including the Town Supervisor.
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Dr. Duggan Community Center, Meeting Room, 3460 Route 55, White Lake, New York 12786. Special Meetings and Public Hearing Notices are published in the official paper of the Town, the Sullivan County Democrat.
The Town Board are members of the Sullivan County Visitor's Association, Sullivan County Parntership for Economic Development, Bethel Business Association, the New York State Association of Towns and the Bethel Local Development Corporation.
